Don’t ditch sports

There seems to be a pattern in conversations I’ve had with people lately. I’ve heard a handful of people talking about ditching cable or satellite and sticking with Netflix and Hulu. But Why? Don’t you know those services don’t provide live sporting events? Does anyone really have cable or satellite for the shows and movies?

In my head, I’m making guesses as to how long those people are going to last? How can you survive with not being able to tune into the baseball playoffs, or go back and forth between football games on Saturday’s and Sundays? Why would you not want to watch Monday Night Football? I’m perplexed, and I can’t find the answers to these and other questions.

Do those who cancel cable and satellite not realize just how many sports stations are on cable now? Are they holding on to false hope that live sporting events will soon be picked up by the online services?

I recently had to make one of the hardest decisions in my life. After having satellite service for about six years, I switched to cable. The hard part about it was losing the incredible sports package and downgrading to save some money. Seeing as how hard that decision was, I can’t imagine how hard of a decision it is for those choosing strictly Netflix or Hulu over DirecTV or Suddenlink Cable. Why would you do that to yourself?
