Southside Furniture Where Ashley Furniture Used to Be

Southside Furniture Tyler Texas
We were driving on Old Bullard Rd and drove near Ashley Furniture but than discovered Ashley Furniture isn’t there anymore.

Now Ashley Furniture in Tyler Texas is a place called Southside Furniture?

So what happened to Ashley Furniture? They did have a lot of no interest furniture sales and stuff all the time.

Were their furniture deals just too good or was it something else?

If anyone knows the answer just comment below.

They were originally Southside Furniture in the '80s and 90's in a building on 5th and Beckhem…..Moved over behind the mall and then picked up the Ashley Homestore line…Too many shipping issues with Ashley brought about this switch to offering predominately "Made in the USA" lines….Should be interesting to see how it all works out…

Same owners, but going back to their original, independent business…

Here is the article from the Business Section….

The biggest problem was most likely that they couldn't keep employees. They don't know how to treat customers. They would give one person a good deal and cheat the next person. Pat is the meanest old witch that ever lived. She goes to church. I often wonder why the pews don't catch fire when she sits down. Ain't no way I can imagine seeing her making it to heaven!! I used to work there. Believe me I know what I am talking about! She wears the pants in the family! Everybody jumps when she yells FROG!!! She doesn't like women sales people. She just drools over the men!

    • Wow, that sounds horrible, sorry you had such a rough time working there. You really put some dirt out about this lady, I hope you can back that up because that would really piss somebody off if it is not true.

I appreciate that haha's employment experience was frightful. This often happens with retail business…but I recently shopped at the Longview store and had a pleasant shopping experience. The staff there were helpful, store well laid out and they had the merchandise I wanted. It helped that they allowed my husband and me to browse and encouraged us to try out the chairs. We were looking for particular recliners. The employees could not have been more helpful.
