Bruno’s Pizza and Pasta is one of the most underrated restaurants in Tyler. You hear so much about the major chains and our hundreds of Mexican restaurants but as good as those places are, most of them aren’t nearly as good as Bruno’s.
Bruno’s was founded in 1976 and it specializes in the best Italian foods, which includes pizza, pasta, calzones, lasagna and so much more. It offers catering and take-out as well as room to sit down. In fact, its banquet room seats about 55 people. It’s no wonder why BSCENE Magazine named it the Best Pizza Restaurant in 2010.
Personally, I’ve never tried anything but their pizza, which is top of the line. I’ve been told the calzones and their meatball subs are good. I’ve just always gone with the sure thing. People constantly rave about how big the servings are.
One customer, Miriam, raves about the customer service and the calzones.
“I highly suggest their delicious calzones,” she said. “You can even get them with a wheat crust. Be careful though they are way too much for one person – unless you’re cool with having calzone leftovers. It’s just big enough for two people. The calzone dough was so good and they put the ingredients on top as decoration (and to remind the chef which is which, no doubt). It also comes with a very generous side of amazingly delicious marinera sauce – yum!”
