tjcHigh school basketball season is over for most teams around the state of Texas, but for the best are still alive, and the road to the state championship game in Austin runs through Tyler for 1A and 2A boys and girls basketball.

Just like every year, Tyler Junior College is hosting several state playoff games in the regional semifinals to determine who goes home and who moves on to the next round.  Games are slated to take place at Wagstaff Gymnasium all day Friday and Saturday.

As for the team that plays its home games at Wagstaff; the TJC Apaches are rolling on all cylinders as they have an overall record of 20-7 and have lost only one game at home. The Apaches dominated the month of January with a perfect record of 8-0.

They are coming off a 90-73 over Bossier Parish Community College and have two games remaining. March 27 they will hit the road to take on Navarro College and March 2 they will play host to Kilgore College.

TJC currently hold the No.4 spot in the Region XIV Conference and will take place in the conference tournament at UT Tyler starting March 5.
