This East Texas electric company allows you to become a part owner in an independent business with them and basically reimburse you in cash for part of the electric usage you consume. This is an alternative to an electric co-op and their electricity rates are cheap. As of April 7 2009 they show an electric rate in the East Texas area at 11.4 cents a kWh for 1 year fixed. If you live in the Tyler area and have been considering switching to an electric co-op in order to receive cash back on your usage then we suggest using Affordable Energy instead. Nueces is charging 17 cents a kWh + and so the cash back just doesn't make up the difference in price. You can join Affordable as a customer rep for free and sign up as your own customer. Affordable Energy will then pay you on your own usage. Can't beat that deal.
