Earl Campbell Parkway opens in Tyler

August 31st, 2012

Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Earl Campbell met with city officials Thursday for a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the brand new street named after Campbell.

Earl Campbell Parkway cost nearly $16.6 million to build and is a four-lane road connecting highway 155 to Loop 323 West. It also comes with a pair of bike lanes, medians and sidewalks. On top of that, it also comes with about 86,000 square miles of pavement and nine miles of curbs.

Campbell, also known as the “The Tyler Rose,” said he was honored by the gesture of having a street named after him.

“Nothing I accomplished in life is because of me,” Campbell said. “It’s because of we. I know a lot of people take credit Campbell, but there’s only one man who can take all the credit, that’s the Lord God Almighty.

Mayor Barbara Bass was at the scene and told the crowd she’s proud to be able to have a street named after the local legend.

“Earl Campbell exemplifies the best of who we are,” she said. “He puts God first. We have this parkway name in honor of a special person, born and raised in Tyler, Texas.”

Campbell played for John Tyler High School before attending University of Texas where he played for the Longhorns won the Heisman Trophy in 1977.

In 1978, he was drafted by the Houston Oilers, the team he played for the majority of his career. He spent two seasons playing for the New Orleans Saints and retired from football in 1986. He finished his career with 9,407 rushing yards.

Members of the Mineola Sex Ring Released from Jail

June 2nd, 2011

Mineola sex ring released from jailThere really is no justice, even in East Texas. I’m referring of course to the guilty plea that allowed the rest of the Mineola pedophiles to be released on the grounds of time served. Excuse me but, there isn’t enough time! The report I read stated that judge Skeen and the prosecution didn’t have the heart to put the child victims through another round of excruciating testimony. This is a compelling argument to me. I can’t imagine having sit through the account myself, let alone live through it! What really sticks in my craw is that these worthless defendants are actually profiting by their horrific actions by holding the threat of telling their story over the heads of the children and their families, thereby abusing them all over again! I was not one of the Tylerites upset when the court brought rather severe sentences for the church arsonists last year. But it seems now that they were condemned by their defense’s inability to black mail the victims and their families with the threat of making them repeatedly relive their crimes. As I say, I understand the judge’s reasoning in this case, but it doesn’t make the result any easier to take.

The sickies who were released this past week, each pled guilty to third degree felony injury to a child in exchange for time served. The most recent releases were of Jamie Pittman, Patrick Kelly, and Rebecca Pittman on Friday, May 27th. As I understand it Shauntel Mayo and Jimmy Sones remain in Jail and Sheila Sones was released the day before the others. Only Dennis Pittman is serving time for his conviction, but of course he has appealed his decision. Check out the mug shots and remember the faces parents, once a pedophile always a pedophile. For their sakes, I certainly hope these defendants remain friends, because they’re not going to find any new ones in Tyler or East Texas.

Jared Loughner is heavily in the occult and went to an Obama and Bill Aeyrs funded school

January 10th, 2011

jared loughnerIt turns out there is more crazy things about this guy Jared Loughner and weird connections to Obama and Bill Ayers way before Obama was elected to office.

Jared actually attended a high school funded in part by Obama and Bill Ayers that was a part of a network where teachers are trained and given education material by a liberal group founded by the Weatherman terrorist, Bill Ayers.

This liberal network was also surprisingly funded by Obama himself.

The network group, Small Schools Workshop, has been led by a former top communist activist who is an associate of Ayers. This leads me to believe it is no wonder why one of Jared Lee Loughner’s favorite books is The Communist Manifesto.

Obama gave the liberal education network funds in the 1990s when he worked at an education reform group with Ayers. To say that Ayers and his organizations are extreme is an understatement.

The fact that this guy was educated at one of these schools is very interesting considering how many times the Tea Party and republican politicians have been brought as being the influence that caused the attack on Gabrielle Giffords.

Jared Loughner Liberal Jared attended Mountain View High School, which is part of Arizona’s Morana Unified School District.

Since 2003, Mountain View has been part of what is known as the Smaller Learning Community, a network of schools that have been restructured to create a more personalized learning environment where students often have the same teachers and fellow students from grade to grade.

The communist ideas and philosophies must have been taught to Jared while at this school and we have nobody other than people like Obama and Ayers to point the finger at if we are going to be doing any finger pointing.

Obviously this liberal school network did not teach this guy to shoot politicians but when asking  the questions about what were this crazy guys inspirations, propaganda sources, tools, and role models we may be getting closer to the truth in the Obama administration than looking at the Tea Party.

The Tea Party are a bunch of bible belt baby boomers. Many of these people are people like myself’s parents. Some of them may have a little bit of a prejudice towards a race other than their own but they don’t fall in the category of extremists or racists.

Bill Ayers Extremist School NetworkBill Ayers and communists on the other hand would fall in the extremist group and prone to violence.

But what led to this guy committing violent acts against a politician? I think it has a whole lot more to do with drugs and the occult. He may have been a normal person at one point in time but the occult and drugs can change a person.

Jared had an alter in his back yard with  a skull and incense. He must have prayed and meditated about this day for awhile. He obviously had this planned out fairly well and was fixated on this one person, Gabrielle Giffords.

loughner skull shrineWe hate that political opinions and fights have broken out regarding this massacre but because the liberal politicians are blaming the Tea Party the facts need to be brought to light regarding the actual organizations this guy can be traced back to.

Church Arsonists Sentenced in East Texas

January 10th, 2011

Tyland Baptist ChurchUnless you’re living in a hole in the ground, you’ve probably already heard that church arsonists Jason Bourque, and Daniel McAllister, were sentenced by Judge Christi Kennedy of the 114th court.

Baroque was sentenced to five life sentences for his successful church burnings and another three, twenty year sentences for attempted arson. McAllister received two life sentences for successfully burning two churches, and two twenty year sentences for two counts of trying unsuccessfully to burn two other churches.

Several of the pastors whose churches were attacked by the pair were present at the sentencing to offer their forgiveness and prayers. I’ve been reading the posts by individuals angry at the sentences and the Judge who brought them! Some claimed they were far too harsh. Others that the church should forgive the young men and be glad no one was hurt.

To that I would respond that it was just a matter of time before someone was in fact killed due to the young men’s actions. And while I agree that the church collectively should and has forgiven the assailants, it’s the civil authorities who must protect the public.

Tyler Texas Church Arsonists SentencedAnd in actuality, many people were in fact hurt by the perps’ actions! Like it or not, church is a big part of the lives of many East Texans. We are baptized and confirmed in them. Married in them, and raise children in them. That’s a lot of memories, and a big part of our identity that cannot be completely restored once it’s taken away.

Clearly these are very troubled young men, but the facts of their ages, and their motivation doesn’t really matter, except in proving guilt or innocence. I’m not really interested in why they burned those churches. I’m only interested in preventing them from burning any more, particularly mine!

There is certainly a place and a need for forgiveness, but contrition shouldn’t remove the consequences. I hope Bourque and McAllister get the help they need.

And I hope that they will encounter a chaplain who can help open their minds and help to make them receptive to the faith they persecuted. But it must be in the context of facing the consequences of their actions.

Wow! Life Sentences handed down for East TX Church Arsonsist in Tyler TX courts this morning

January 10th, 2011

Tyland Baptist Church ArsonThis morning Monday January 10 2011 the 114th Court precised over by Judge Kennedy handed down a total of 7 life sentences between the two East Texas arsonists, Jason Bourque and Daniel McAllister.

Jason and Daniel pleaded guilty to these arson charges back in December of 2010 but sentencing was carried out today.

The state of Texas gave Bourque 5 life sentences and McAllister was given 2 life sentences as well as two 20 year sentences in his part in burning down several East Texas churches.

This appears to be a plea agreement as Daniel and Jason waived their right to appeal their sentencing.

Several of the writers of Tyler TX Directory have family connections or previously attended Tyland Baptist Church which was one of the churches that was burned down by the arsonists.

Because of the family connection we have been following this story pretty close.

Tyland Baptist Church was the last church to rebuild after the fire destruction. For about a year Tyland Baptist church were generously allowed to worship at Willowbrook Baptist Church across the street from Willowbrook country club. Willowbrook Baptist Church 3100 W. Erwin St. Tyler, TX 75702

The life sentences are quite severe in my opinion but at the same time it is a sticky situation because if a harsh judgment wasn’t enforced this type of thing could happen again as more loony kids go on a night of arson pranks.

I feel very sorry for these two because that long in prison is something I don’t wish on anyone and I myself warned them on this site in an open appeal to stop because they would be caught especially if they continued but they didn’t listen to me or anyone else.
