Tyler, Texas Home Search

Tyler TX Home MLS Search

Tyler TX MLS

While it is wise to find a good real estate agent for your Tyler, Texas home search, sometimes it helps to conduct your own property search. Realtors can help you find homes that you may not normally have access to and let you know when a new home hits the market that matches your criteria before it shows up on MLS search results. However, no matter how in tune your realtor is to you, they will never be you and therefore cannot know with certainty whether a particular home is something you would be interested in or not.

In order to find your perfect home, help your realtor along a little. Provide him or her with a clear description of the type of home you are searching for, but keep an eye out yourself just in case something becomes available that doesn’t fit in with the description you gave. There are many, many ways to conduct a Tyler, Texas home search, but one of the best resources can be found at http://www.tylertxhomesearch.com/.

Using a website such as this one will allow you to search available listings based on several criteria. You can select a price range in which to search so that you aren’t falling in love with homes that are out of your budget. Additionally, you may specify how many bedrooms and bathrooms you’d like, as well as if you’d prefer to have amenities such as a fireplace or pool and whether you are interested in waterfront property.

Crown Kia Tyler TX

Crown Kia

4818 Troup Highway
Tyler TX 75703

On a search for a minivan in Tyler and very much on a budget, we headed to Crown Kia in Tyler. We had previous experience with Kias, having owned a Sorrento. We had been initially impressed with all it’s features but very soon realized that quantity doesn’t equal quality. Interior paint peeled, the CD player got stuck and all sorts of bits of plastic broke off over time. But we were tempted at the thought of being able to buy a newer vehicle and attracted by special offers we had seen in the media, so found ourselves at Crown.

As soon as we pulled up, a salesman approached us. He was helpful but kept pressing us for details of our budget which we weren’t prepared to discuss. On test-driving the van we just weren’t sure. It didn’t feel as ‘solid’ as others we had seen. However, the salesman was really keen to take us into the office and after filling in some paperwork about our trade-in vehicle he left us to get the ‘best price’ from the boss. It was then that we began to feel trapped! Hard sell and lots of techniques to get us to buy the car followed. As we didn’t appear to be susceptible to these tricks of the trade, our salesman worked harder and harder. Our trade-in vehicle even doubled in value during the 10 minute discussion! We left the dealership with the salesman shaking his head in sympathy and disbelief at us for passing up an opportunity of a lifetime.

To be honest, I am very glad that I was not at Crown without my husband as I don’t like conflict and probably would have given in to the hard sell in order to stop it.

So, if you want a Kia (and are you sure you do?) be prepared when you visit Crown. The salesman will work hard for you to get you a good deal for sure but you may feel really pressured like we did, into making a purchase you are not sure about.

And by the way, in the end, we bought an older Toyota – it’s great!

Brookshires Grocery Store

September 2nd, 2009

Brookshire’s, Tyler, TX(Located on Broadway and Rice just south of the Loop)

10 out of 10 StarsRate Brookshires Grocery

Besides basic Tyler grocery store needs, this Brookshire’s has some attributes that some may not know about.  Some specialty areas which are located on west part of the store include: A Coffee Bar/Shop, a Chinese Restaurant, a Sushi Bar, a Deli Counter, an Olive Bar, and a Salad Bar.  Having these extras available in a neighborhood grocery store is rare and at least one can be utilized by most any customer.  My favorite part of the store is Brookshire’s Sushi Bar. It has an excellent selection of basic sushi trays at a good price. Another advantage of the sushi bar is the convenience for those who are on a limited budget and maybe even limited time if you should be craving sushi.  Since the store is open for 24 hours, the sushi trays are also available for those operating hours. However, one should keep in mind that because the sushi is made during the early part of the day and the actual sushi bar is only open until late evening, the later in the evening, the less chance of finding the variety one might desire.
