Find or Refer a Contractor in Tyler

Engelking Design

September 27th, 2012

Dan Engelking has a good thing going on with Engelking Design. He’s easy going and he loves his job. I’ve been impressed with his work as he has made me some business cards and a banner for my website and podcast.

He designs a wide range of products such as business cards, banners, vehicle wraps, car magnets, window cling, t-shirts, postcards and much more. If you have printing needs, Engelking Design can meet those needs, and at prices that are hard to beat.

Engelking, a Stephen F. Austin  State University graduate, began his design career at Signs of Times in Nacogdoches, a small shop located a block away from SFA. He grew a passion for the field and eventually graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration and has a second major in Advertising Design.

Shortly after graduating from SFA, Dan married his wife Sara and the newlyweds moved to Tyler.

“Over the next few years I gained further experience by running a 60” large format printer and designing signs and marketing materials,” he says in a statement found on his website (engelkingdesign.com) “As a designer, I also created concept and production drawings for many types of illuminated signage. I learned a great deal running the printer, but I missed working directly with clients like I did at the small sign shop where I got my start. Out of this desire, Engelking Design was started.”

If you’re looking for printing and design needs in Tyler or anywhere in East Texas, look no further than Engelking Design. Visit his website for more information, including how to get a hold of Dan.

Great Idea to Market Your Local Tyler Business

September 26th, 2011

If you have a local business in Tyler you have likely tried telling people about it on places like Facebook. You may have even created a Facebook page and possibly a Google AdWords campaign and linked them back to your website.

Many local businesses don’t even have a website but they have still managed to set up a Facebook page because it is really easy to do.

For those of you who have managed to do some of these above basic online marketing tasks I have a great idea to improve upon what you are already doing. Try adding an SMS marketing campaign to this.

What you do is keep on doing what you’re doing but setup a text message campaign with an SMS provider and then promote this in the same places you are now and beyond.

An SMS campaign is simply a way for your customers to sign up to receive text messages to their cell phone from your business.

You can than text your customers 4 – 5 times a month to come in to receive a special deal or value without necessarily offering huge profit squeezing discounts.

Think about it, these people have opted-in to your cell phone messaging list because they love what you sell. Simply text them about what they love and attach some extra value to it.

What has been shown statistically is that 20% of the people you text will respond to your offer which ends up giving you the biggest ROI than any other form of advertising.

Once you have your campaign setup here are some of the top places to promote your SMS campaign locally:

  • Facebook
  • Twitter
  • TV screens
  • Buttons
  • Radio advertisements
  • Craigslist
  • Website
  • T-Shirts
  • Billboard
  • Print advertisements
  • Business cards
  • TV advertisements
  • Receipts
  • Myspace
  • Blog
  • Brochures
  • Car/Bus
  • Stickers
  • Billboards
  • Email signature
  • The radio
  • Flyers
  • Picket signs
  • Email campaigns
  • Promotion products
  • Restaurant menus

Think of the response rate? Think of the ROI, think of the direct access you will have to local Tyler TX shoppers and your own customers eagerly waiting to come back in your doors to buy more of your product more frequently?

The Fed Ex Office in Tyler TX

April 8th, 2010

FED EX OFFICE

4522 S Broadway Avenue
Tyler TX 75703
Phone: 903 509 1090

In the shopping district opposite the mall on S Broadway you will find FedEx Office. Don’t be confused, this was once called Kinkos and offers the same services as before, but has now been re-branded.

Fed Ex Office is a chain of stores that provide a retail outlet for Fed Ex shipping, primarily geared towards small business and home office use. However, they also provide a wider service such as copy and printing services, signs, banners, and office supplies. They will make booklets for you, brochures, flyers and business cards. For family use they can make cards and personalized invitations, plus calendars and photo gifts. In the shop there is a quite a good range of office products for sale and I liked the greeting cards they stocked which were a bit out of the ordinary.

We went to Fed Ex in Tyler TX for our passport photos. They were pricey – $15 for two – but the photographer seemed to know what she was doing and exactly how the pictures needed to be for official documents. There is also a notary service provided in store which is quite handy.

There is an online service so you can download your documents to be printed and go in store for the pickup. They will also direct mail your documents. In addition, they will pack and post almost anything legal! And they have internet services and computer rental in case you should need it.

The staff at Tyler Fed Ex were friendly and helpful. I would say that the services provided are quite expensive but if you don’t want to do it yourself, then Fed Ex is a great option. The attention to detail is satisfying and they will re-do any thing that doesn’t print exactly as you want it.
