Find or Refer a Contractor in Tyler

To Call The Station to Find the Final Score

August 27th, 2012

We all know that high school football is big in Texas. Actually, that’s a major understatement. It’s huge, and until you work with high school football in one way or another or you’ve seen the curtain pulled back a little, you might not know just how big it is.

I’ve worked for a few different news outlets in Texas covering high school football and that’s given me more insight as to how big it really is, just like everything else in Texas. After covering a game, I will often go up the office where phones are ringing off the hook. Fans want to know who won different games throughout the area and coaches are calling to report their scores.

Thankfully though, if you live in Tyler or somewhere else in the East Texas area, you have no reason to call radio and TV stations or newspaper offices to ask for scores thanks to www.etfinalscore.com
I wrote for ET Final Score last year and found just how convenient it is. Fans can read articles, look up stats through the season and even look up live stats and scores on Friday nights.

So, if you’re at Rose Stadium watching the Red Raiders and you want to know what the score in the John Tyler game is, just pull out your smart phone and pull etfinalscore.com. Seriously, unless you’re going to report some scores, don’t use the phone to call the station and ask what Chapel Hill is doing. It’ll be on the website soon if it’s not already.

Fourth of July Festivities in Tyler Texas

June 29th, 2011

Wings Over Tyler Air Show

Air Show in Tyler

Tyler Air Show, Wings Over Tyler

Tyler TX AirshowThere are quite a number of Independence Day festivities in the Tyler, East Texas area this year. Of course there will be the traditional fireworks display at Lindsey Field. In fact from what I read, quite a big crowd is anticipated this year. Throughout the day, there will be an assortment of activities and local charities and organizations will be sponsoring events. The cost is ten dollars per car load.

Living Alternatives in Lindale will also be holding its annual fireworks display again this year. This is a great day that’s really much more than just a fireworks show. There are all sorts of events and activities for the kids, including swimming, bounce houses, music and a variety of food vendors on hand. There is also a fishing tournament throughout the day. This is definitely one of my preferred Fourth of July events. Admission is free however a fifteen dollar donation is suggested. For more info see the following page: http://la4th.com/ .

Helicopter in Tyler TXFor those looking for activities throughout the holiday weekend there are a couple of very cool educational things I thought I’d plug. The Historic Aviation Memorial Museum (HAMM) will be holding a static air show display on Saturday, the second of July, the day before the Thunder over Cedar Creek Air Show. The museum holds this event every year as the pilots fly in to perform the following day. HAMM has made arraignments for their historic aircraft to be on display to the public. There is a moderate fee to get up close and personal with the aircraft, (I believe it was five dollars last year), but viewing from the fence line is obviously free. To see my review of last year’s static air show, click on the following link: http://www.tylertxdirectory.com/3027/celebrating-the-4th-in-tyler-tx/ .

Tyler Texas Air ShowFor Tylerites interested in going to an actual air show this year the “Wings Over Tyler Air Show,” will be on Sunday the third. Also at the HAMM terminal (the old Pounds field location for native East Texans), this event seems like kind of a long time coming for our area. It will feature a variety of performances and aircraft, and promises to bring out a lot of visitors. The entrance fee is twenty five dollars a car load, or five dollars per person. For more info on this event visit the following web sites: http://www.tylertxdirectory.com/9031/live-from-the-field-2/ ,http://www.wingsovertylerairshow.com/ .There are certainly other great celebrations in our area this year and a quick Google search will yield more results. But these are some of my personal favorites, and the ones in which I choose to participate. Happy Independence Day East Texas! And don’t forget to enjoy the grill this weekend!

Don’t let your east Texas town partner in crime let Juarez be a warning

January 30th, 2011

Small town acceptance of wrong doingWhile considering the current issue of the number of “patent troll” cases taking place in the East Texas area I remembered a story I heard of a town in the Juarez Valley outside of the Mexican border city of Juarez.

During the past number of years the people of a small town in the Juarez Valley became aware of the drug trafficking taking place in there town due to its proximity to the United States.

But instead of doing something to rid themselves of this illegal practice they created a kind of symbiotic relationship as the drug traffickers brought business to the small town.

As time passed, the highly documented battle for trafficking territory began to take place and reached the small town resulting in atrocious acts of violence and killing.

The small town’s passive acceptance of the traffickers and their business began to have its repercussions as the violence spilled over into their lives and climaxed when, one day, notes were posted throughout the town announcing a date in which every person had to leave town or be killed.

Of course, not at all to this extreme, the concern for East Texas is that there will not be passive acceptance of these “patent trolls” just to capitalize on their business.

The desperateness of these “patent trolls” to have their cases brought to the favorable court circuit in East Texas reached an all-time high when it was reported that one group set up an employee-less front in a local Tyler office in order to file in a court there.

If the people of East Texas continue to allow this ridiculous practice to take place, there could be repercussions later greater than expected. Because when you sell your soul to the devil, you will get burned!

East Texas, a hotbed for patent infringement litigation

November 24th, 2010

Patent Infringement Attorneys East TXThroughout the last decade or so, the number of cases dealing with patent infringement has skyrocketed in East Texas. Many have come to ask why East Texas has experienced such a surge of patent infringement litigation. There are a few different factors that come into play here. The East Texas District Court has great judicial expertise on the subject, the courts are known for being plantiff-friendly, and most importantly, jurors that are usually predisposed to awarding the plaintiff with a large sum of money almost every time.

East Texas Patent Attorneys

For the reasons mentioned above, the East Texas area has become a haven for patent trolls and it has been called a renegade jurisdiction. In fact, the town of Marshall, Texas experienced a huge economic boom when it quickly became a hot spot for patent infringement litigation and it’s likely that very few people there are complaining about it!

From time to time you may see what appears to be a Hollywood movie scene as a big throng of high power patent attorneys in Armani suits makes their way down the city streets for court lunch break.

These patent litigation attorneys may have slicked back hair, a rolex on and a hot legal secretary mistress but make no mistake this is real life stuff and these guys make millions of dollars each year right here in our backyard in Marshall Texas. Maybe one of these patent lawyers will continue on as did John Edwards and go from attorney to politician.

One of the key factors in the popularity of East Texas patent infringement cases is the fact that there are a lot of professionals in the area who are familiar with patent law combined with the friendly courts towards patent plaintiffs. Like almost any type of litigation, it is very challenging to try a patent infringement case. It is very complex even from a legal standpoint and the work it takes to secure a patent is almost impossible for an average Joe to do. Thus, patent infringement lawyers are in high demand in the East Texas area!
