McDonalds Wedding

McDonalds Wedding Tyler TX

McDonalds Wedding Tyler TX

If you are tying to find a great wedding idea that is cheap, you may want to consider the new Hong Kong trend and throw your wedding at a local McDonalds. I am not kidding when I say that this has become a Chinese trend. The weddings have become a real McDonalds’ experience with balloon dresses, apple pie tower for a wedding cake, and a toast with soft drinks (since alcohol is not allowed since they still want the family friendly atmosphere).

I am pretty traditional when it comes to weddings so I think that this is pretty crazy idea, but “to each his own”. Hopefully the McDonalds in Hong Kong are cleaner than the ones in Tyler and do not smells so much like dirty feet and bad body deodorant. I would not understand why someone would want their wedding at a fast food restaurant, but I guess the catering would be easy and who expects good catering at a wedding anyway? Especially that they do not allow the wedding party to rent out the whole store.

Weddings Tyler TX

I guess that this would be a really cheap way of having a wedding. Why spent hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars on a wedding dress when you can just get one made from colorful balloons? I mean when are you going to wear it again anyway? McDonalds has become more than just a place for birthday parties. Weddings, anniversary parties, and vowel renewal ceremonies have been thrown at the fast food restaurants in China. China has had some really great ideas in the past and some crazy ones, I think that this idea is going to go on the list of crazy ideas.

McDonalds’ Monopoly Game

October 17th, 2010

Everyone has heard of the Monopoly game at McDonalds’ fast food restaurant. This year they have another great list of prizes. The grand prize of $1,000,000 is the hardest to come by. The hardest piece to win is Boardwalk. McDonalds has many other cash prizes, Beach resorts, family vacations, cars, $5,000 Wal-Mart gift cards, free Red Box rentals, and of course free food and drinks.

When you go to McDonalds and order large drinks, some breakfast foods, large fries, and some Burgers. I have heard stories of people all over the country and the world, but I have not won anything more than a free large fry, McNugget meal, or a small coffee. I think that it is funny that they are giving away free Red Box rentals this year, but I have not seen tickets for them yet.

Pull out your board and tickets and compare to see if you have these tickets that are the rarest ones:

1. Short Line

2. Boardwalk

3. Pennsylvania Avenue

4. Ventnor Avenue

5. Kentucky Avenue

6. Tennessee Avenue

7. Virginia Avenue

8. Vermont Avenue

9. Mediterranean Avenue

10. Golden Avenue

Win some money in the store and online! I think that McDonalds should offer a free gym membership for the person that eats enough McDonalds’ food to actually win something.

The Reappearing King

March 23rd, 2010

There are not many things more annoying than turning on the television and seeing the obnoxious masked man with ghetto gold chains creepily looking into women’s bedroom windows, or lying in bed with another grown man. The “King” has completely turned me off towards the fast food chain restaurant. Even though the king has surpassed in successfully creeping out the country, they had to throw in the whopper man and his son Jr. (Jr. whopper), and the newest spokesman. The newest spokesman looks normal but he cant hold Burger King’s burger because his hands are too small. Just to let the fast food companies know, creepy is NOT funny.

Tyler’s Burger King population has been growing this past year. They built one off the loop near Vine. And a second one is being built in front of the popular Carmike movie theatre. I was sad to hear of the closing of Italian fast food restaurant, Fazoli’s; but I was even sadder that the building was a new home of Burger King. I guess I did not know that so many people liked Burger King.

I guess I should look pass the crown and try Burger King again but it might take a little while before the nightmares end.

Sonic Fast Food Restaurant

February 15th, 2010

Sonic has several locations here in Tyler, Texas, but the one I am going to talk about is on the corner of Rt 64 W and Loop 323. It is directly across from the Super center Wal Mart. Sonic is a fast food type of place, where you can go and order outside. The have carhops who deliver the order directly to your car.

They have a sandy beach area for volleyball and soccer where you can go play anytime with your friends. Good entertainment and completely free. You don’t have to play on the playground equipment or the sandy beach area, you can just sit and enjoy the weather outside, or get the meal and leave if you prefer. The food is good and if you get the items from the dollar menu, they are very reasonable. Their drink selections are even better than the food menu.

There are other locations at 5611 S Broadway Ave., Tyler ; 2501 W Gentry Parkway; or 3210 Troup Highway, Tyler, Texas. If you would like to find out more about Sonic you can go to their website or any of these locations.

Sonic seems to be quite the hang out place during the summer when people like to go hang out or just play. So Sonic is not the best nutritious place to go, but exciting. If you are trying to work out or loose weight, this is not the place you are looking for. On the other hand, they do have some items that are good for you. Once in awhile it’s ok to go eat food that is fried or high in fat. Their burgers are really good and sometimes they have the brown bag special, where you get two for the price of one. Always nice to pay less and get more for your money.

Sonic has some great tater tots with or without chilli, mozzarella sticks, corn dogs, chilli and fries, and so much more. Their blizzards are good or their slushy’s plus their flavored teas. If you want quick and tasty, Sonic is it. If you have not tried Sonic yet, then maybe its time.

McDonalds in the Wal-Mart Supercenter on HWY 64

February 1st, 2010

McDonald’s

3820 Hwy 64 West
Tyler, TX 75704

McDonald’s is able to maintain a standard nationwide. In fact, I know that McDonald’s in Chiang Mai, Thailand is almost exactly like McDonald’s here in the United States. So, if you’ve been to one McDonald’s restaurant, then you pretty much know what they are like everywhere.

This restaurant branch is a little different only because of its location. The busiest fast food restaurant is located in the busiest retail super store. So there are a few things to know about this location before you decide to take your girlfriend out on a date to it. The high business traffic leads to a couple of issues. The first is that the seating area tends to be messy beyond all reason. I basically don’t want to touch any of the surfaces near the soda machines and ketchup station, due to the straw wrappers, ketchup smears and high volumes of salt poured everywhere.

This mess continues on to the tables which happen to be very comfortable booths with ergonomically designed back supports. The same stuff makes the tables a little unappealing. There will often be leftover napkins, ketchup smears and salt hiding all over the table waiting to stick to your arm when you finally relax and get ready to eat. This all may because of the weird hours in which my life and schedule find me eating. Nevertheless, it does not make me want to sit and relax over a wonderful fast food meal.

Another lame thing about this McDonald’s is that there are always so many people standing around the register. I’m not claustrophobic, but I always feel crowded and awkward waiting in line. One problem that adds to this is the high number of Wal-Mart employees who are trying to squeeze in a whole meal during their short break from their shift. I had one very awkward time about a year ago, when a cashier waiting in line behind me was in a hurry and letting me know with huffs, forced laughs and comments about how far back I was standing from the register. This extreme only happened once, though.

The restaurant is located right after the busiest entrance of this Wal-Mart Super Center near the deli and produce section. This leads to another awkward experience. It feels like the whole world sees what you are ordering and that you are doing a poor job juggling the groceries you just bought from Wal-Mart.

As for the good things about this store: it is a full fledged McDonald’s. That should be enough said. There is a reason McDonald’s has stood the test of time and maintained their status as the most popular fast food chain. The food is so good and almost addictive. The thing that makes this McDonald’s have some negatives is also a positive. It is in Wal-Mart. When I am in a hurry running errands, I couldn’t ask for a more convenient location for a quick and very affordable meal. The employees are all nice enough and very efficient and timely. It is a well-oiled machine.
