Emily Skipper has come up with a wonderful idea – Jam Jars. No she didn’t invent jam jars. She just came up with the idea of stuffing them full of mouth-watering, homemade desserts and selling them online.

Each jam jar is a single serving dessert in an eight or four ounce jam jar. Although if you don’t devour them immediately you can save them in your refrigerator for up to two weeks or in your freezer for up to six months.

The eight ounce jam jars sell for six dollars a piece and the four ounce jam jars sell for three-fifty. Right now Emily has the following desserts available (S’mores, Peach Cobbler, German Chocolate Cake, Rocky Road Brownie, Mixed Berry Cobbler, Birthday Cake, Apple Pie, Pecan Pie, Devil’s Food Cake, and Cherry Pie) although she’s always experimenting with new desserts. In fact if you want you can even send her special requests. If you do you have to order a minimum of six jam jars and give them at least a weeks notice. If it’s possible to get your special request in a jam jar rest assured you’ll get it. If not, they will let you know.

Also if you order the Baker’s Choice (they choose from their list of flavors or experiments) you get a dollar off the price of each jam jar.

Jam jars are perfect for fun desserts, parties or gifts. Go online to www.jamjarsweets.com and check them out for yourself.

Legends Burgers in Bullard Texas

September 10th, 2010

We ate lunch today at Legends Burgers and I thought it was delicious.

Unlike many burger places in Tyler they offer cheddar cheese in addition to the standard American cheese on their burgers.

They also use Blue Bell ice-cream in their ice-cream shakes rather than cheap soft serve junk you get at Jucy’s and many other places in town.

Their fries and burgers are both really good and the meat is high quality. Some burger shops in Tyler settle with nasty freezer burned Cisco foods hamburger meat but at Legends their meat patties taste like premium ground beef.

Overall I left very satisfied with their food although my brother felt that they had too much salt on their French fries.
