Starbucks on Loop and 64

September 27th, 2012

Whoever thought of putting a Starbucks on the Loop and 64 in Tyler had a good idea. The entire city is growing pretty well and this part of town is now exception.

Just down the road on 64 you’ve got the airport. On the corner of the loop and 64 you have Walmart and more businesses seem to be blooming like crazy, which also increases the business of Starbucks. As Americans, we’re pretty addicted to coffee. When we start our day without it, everything seems to go wrong until we finally caffeine up, Starbucks is conveniently located there to help relieve the stresses of early mornings.

This particular Starbucks location has had great feedback from people, who say it’s the cleanest one in Tyler and are impressed with the service. One of the reviews on Google says, “This is the best Starbucks in Tyler! As a regular, they know by drink and always have a smile for me. Great service!”

Another review raves, “Best Starbucks in Tyler. This is my new Starbucks in Tyler. This location is much cleaner than most, and the baristas are all very friendly. My drink is pretty specific and they have never seemed to mind it. Many other places I go, they seem to get agitated with my order. If you’re in Tyler and want a great experience at a Starbucks, this is the place to come.”

Starbucks is a great place to hang out with friends. It also makes for an even better place to go to get some work done for your job or school, as you can enjoy a cup of coffee (as well as a Frappuccino or a fresh fruit smoothie if that’s your style) while making use of the wireless internet.

Like most Starbucks, this one also has a drive through in case you’re in a hurry. If you’re running late for work and you need that extra kick to get you started, the drive through at Starbucks on the Loop and 64 might just be your best bet.

East Texas Intellectual Property Insurance

September 28th, 2010

Intellectual property insurance is unique, and you probably haven’t heard about it if you haven’t had to use it. The purpose of intellectual property insurance is to protect companies from copyright, patent, or trademark infringement claims that are made against them. Just like your car insurance would, intellectual property insurance pays the costs for the defense should a suit arise as well the judgement, up to the policy limits of course.

With a business in East Texas, it is important to know at least the basics on intellectual property insurance. To start, there are two main types of intellectual property insurance. One type protects you if you have to go after someone for infringing on your copyright. This type pays the costs of filing suit against the individual or company violating the copyright. The second type protects you from being sued by another company or individual for infringing on their copyright. In this case, the insurance company pays for your defense and court costs.

If there is any possibility that you or your company could be sued by a competitor for infringing on their idea or that a competitor could infringe on your idea, it is absolutely necessary to have intellectual property insurance. Unless you have a large amount of extra money laying around, a copyright infringement lawsuit could bankrupt your company in a hurry.

Obtaining intellectual property insurance in East Texas requires that you show proof of registration for your copyright, trademark, or patent.

Helpless in Target

March 29th, 2010

Target is one of my very favorite stores here in East Texas. It is one of the best stores to buy clothes and to register for wedding and baby showers. But as I walked through the store to the electronic department I was in a hurry.

I am pretty clueless when it comes to understanding electronics. And I was in need to buy my husband a HD cable. I had no idea what that was. I knew that it was a cable that you stuck into your television. I walked over to the “help” desk and waited for a employee to come to the desk. Two employees walked by the desk and when they saw me, they tried to not make eye contact. Usually I would of just searched the store until I actually found someone that was willing to do their job, but for the sake of this articles, I waited for someone to actually try to help me. Finally a young boy came up to the desk and I asked him to help me. He looked around for someone else to do his job. His lack of excitement to be at work was completely off putting, and to be blunt, annoying.

I asked him where I can find HD cables. He pointed in a general direction and told me they were “over there”. So, at this point I was extremely frustrated with the young kid. I told him that I really had no idea what I was looking for or what kind of cable I should use. He looked at me like I was retarded and told me he was going to get someone to help me. It would take more time to find someone to come over and show me, than to just show me himself. He grabbed his walkie-talkie and asked for some woman to come over to electronics. I asked him if he worked in this department. Apparently you can work in the electronics department but with manly video games and televisions. He grabbed the phone and called an outgoing line right in front of me. I was beyond annoyed by the rudeness of the employee. A woman came up to me and ask what I needed help. I told her that I just needed to be shown where the HD cables were at and which one I should use. She walked me over to the next aisle. About twenty feet. Really? He could not walk me over twenty feet? I grabbed the cable that I needed and left the store disappointed and frustrated. If you don’t know what you are looking for when it comes to the electronic selection, do not go to Target.

Linda R Hoak, Attorney at law

February 10th, 2010

Linda R Hoak has an attorney office located at 218 N. College Ave., Tyler, Texas 75702. She is a family lawyer for divorce and/or custody. I know these type of things are not easy to talk about and marriage is intended to last, but the reality is some marriages don’t make it. Linda Hoak is a good lawyer, because she cares for you personally and will always give you the big picture. She runs you through all the instances and prepares you for the worst, in case you need to go through that.

What impressed me most about her is that she was so willing to spend a lot of time answering all the questions I had. It was so good to become informed about the things that could happen when your marriage is not working and you have a child together. When there aren’t children involved, it was much easier to get a divorce. There are so many things to consider about a child, it is complicated. Linda Hoak encourages you to work on your marriage, but like I said sometimes you must divorce for the safety of your child or yourself. She was so informative about what the law in Texas will allow.

I was truly glad I went, the service was great and everyone welcomed me and were very helpful. She is very professional and honest. I was worried as to how do you know how to trust, when it comes to getting help on my situation. I found her on line from the Internet and decided to go and have a talk with her about my concerns. The visitation would have cost $50.00 which is not a lot of money, if your marriage is in danger and you could possibly lose your children.

One of the nice things was that while I was talking to the receptionists she told me that one of the attorneys policies is Fridays are free. So if money is an issue and you need a lawyer, try to go talk to her on Friday. Finding a good lawyer is hard, especially to find someone who really cares about you and your family. I was so impressed at how well informed she was and was not in a hurry to get over, even though she knew I wasn’t seeking a divorce lawyer, but just needed some legal advice.

You can rest assured that whatever you tell her is confidential. She knows your family is your life and people work hard for their money. She will listen to all you express to her and she won’t offer you advice that will harm your family. Her areas of practice are: divorce, child custody, child support, adoption, CPS cases, wills, medicaid, planning, paternity, and also estate planning. Her website describes in detail the things available. If you need a lawyer, take look at her site.

China King Tyler Texas

January 16th, 2010

China King, Tyler, Texas is located at 4542 S Broadway Ave and it’s a Chinese Restaurant buffet style. If you enjoy Asian food and you like lots of varieties, then you should go to China King. Going there for me is easy and convenient and I enjoy being able to select all kinds of food choices. They have a salad bar that boasts lots of good salad selections. They have a meat and veggie table that has fried rice, noodles, shrimp, sushi and a good selection of desserts. Soft drinks are also available for you for a small price. Anytime you are in a hurry, but enjoy trying new foods, then the China King is the place for you.

The quality of service and price will fit your budget. From my experience $25.00 will feed two people easily. I love the idea of not having to wait for your food to get prepared and just being able to go and eat right away…especially if you are starved. There is no limit on how much you can eat while you are there. You can go back as many times as you want.

The best thing is at the end of the meal when you get one of those fortune cookies. Those are always fun but of course, I don’t take it seriously, I just enjoy seeing what I get and then add something at the end of the saying and that makes it funnier.
