Members of the Mineola Sex Ring Released from Jail

June 2nd, 2011

Mineola sex ring released from jailThere really is no justice, even in East Texas. I’m referring of course to the guilty plea that allowed the rest of the Mineola pedophiles to be released on the grounds of time served. Excuse me but, there isn’t enough time! The report I read stated that judge Skeen and the prosecution didn’t have the heart to put the child victims through another round of excruciating testimony. This is a compelling argument to me. I can’t imagine having sit through the account myself, let alone live through it! What really sticks in my craw is that these worthless defendants are actually profiting by their horrific actions by holding the threat of telling their story over the heads of the children and their families, thereby abusing them all over again! I was not one of the Tylerites upset when the court brought rather severe sentences for the church arsonists last year. But it seems now that they were condemned by their defense’s inability to black mail the victims and their families with the threat of making them repeatedly relive their crimes. As I say, I understand the judge’s reasoning in this case, but it doesn’t make the result any easier to take.

The sickies who were released this past week, each pled guilty to third degree felony injury to a child in exchange for time served. The most recent releases were of Jamie Pittman, Patrick Kelly, and Rebecca Pittman on Friday, May 27th. As I understand it Shauntel Mayo and Jimmy Sones remain in Jail and Sheila Sones was released the day before the others. Only Dennis Pittman is serving time for his conviction, but of course he has appealed his decision. Check out the mug shots and remember the faces parents, once a pedophile always a pedophile. For their sakes, I certainly hope these defendants remain friends, because they’re not going to find any new ones in Tyler or East Texas.

Lake Country Airways Internet in Lindale Texas

April 16th, 2010

Lake Country Airways offers a great service for rural broadband internet for Mineola, Lindale, Grand Saline and maybe other places in this area. If you are outside the cable link area and can’t get DSL then this really is an option for you.  It is better than satellite (which we found, is expensive and not reliable in different weather conditions) and of course, it is MUCH better than dial up.

The key thing to be eligible for internet access with Lake Country Airways is your physical location. You must have line of sight to one of their towers. If you live on a hill, then you are probably fine – otherwise you will need to have access to an internet tower high enough to reach over the trees and hills. If you are not sure, they can check this for you. We did not have line of sight at our home and had to pay for them to build us a 40 foot metal tower in our backyard. It is visible but not unsightly. I was impressed at their speed and skill in getting the tower up and a little nervous watching them merrily climb up and down the tower to set us up with internet!

Lake Country Airways requires no monthly contract. The set up costs are around $300. Different internet speeds are available depending on what you want to pay. We have 1Mbps which usually costs $50 a month and is plenty fast enough for family internet use – including Skype and downloading large files like TV programs from the internet.

We have had internet service from LCA for nearly two years and have found it very reliable. The speed is consistently fast which is refreshing after our previous experience of enduring satellite connection up and downs. Since our original set up, we have had no issues that required a visit, but when we have called them on the phone their customer service seems to be efficient and polite.

Lake Country Airways is located in Mineola opposite Walmart and they can be contacted on 903 316 9586.

Faulkner Park Tyler Texas

January 8th, 2010

If you are looking for some family fun in Tyler Texas check out Faulkner Park. There are two Faulkner Parks, both which are free and open to the public. Both parks are located off of Highway 69. One Faulkner Park is on the far North end of Highway 69.

It is actually past Lindale. If you live near interstate 20 in Lindale, Tyler, or Van this would be closer to you. If you live near Tyler Pipe, the north Faulkner Park is a straight shot. This park features a large beautiful pond with a trail going around it.

You can bring your kids out and fish from the small bridge on the far side of the peaceful pond. This park also features several baseball fields, soccer fields, tennis courts, sand volleyball court, basketball court and concession stand that is open on some occasions.

The playground and large pavilion make this park an ideal place for a picnic. Past Lindale but not as far as Mineola, the north Faulkner Park is right in the middle of the quiet country.

The Faulkner Park on the south part of Tyler has amazing new playgrounds. Probably the most exciting activity for kids to do in Tyler Texas, that’s free, is the Spray ground at Faulkner Park.

As you drive into this park you will be blown away with how clean and big it is. There are several baseball fields at the entrance if you drive further and take a left at the sign “spray ground” you will see a large playground and a fun spray ground which is like a water park.

I love this playground because it is fun and safe. It is away from traffic. It has clean green grass and picnic tables surrounding it. It is in a safe part of town. The spray ground doesn’t have a pool, which for little ones can be great. Small children can learn to have fun with water without the fear of drowning. It also puts parents at rest mentally and physically.

The parents can play with their children or sit back on a bench or on the grass and watch the fun. The spray ground features two rotating water guns, buckets of water that fill up and spill out, rings and pipes with water shooting out and much more. You must check out the spray ground at the Faulkner Park in Tyler. If the water is turned off you can reactivate it by simply pressing a large black button on the fist pipe in the spray ground.

If you drive further into Faulkner Park in South Tyler you will see a large pond surrounded by wooded areas that has “secret” trails through them. There are many frogs down the trails, which may interest you if you have any boys in your family. The pond isn’t ever over populated with people. You can always find a quiet place to fish.

If you haven’t checked out Faulkner Park in Tyler I highly recommend it. Grab a fishing pole, put on your swimming trunks, lather up with sunscreen, and spend the afternoon at this wonderful park.
