Adults Having More Fun With Halloween

August 9th, 2011

Spirit Halloween Costumes in Tyler

Spirit Halloween Adult Costumes

Here in the last few years, the Tyler Texas market has seen somewhat of a change regarding Halloween. More adults are now starting to get involved again with the tradition. Until just recently, Halloween was thought of as more of a kid’s tradition that focused solely on children’s costumes.

Things have now started to change and adults are starting to have a little more fun than they use to. The market has actually seen a thirty percent increase in adult costumes over the last couple of years. This is because adults are starting to have a better time dressing up and enjoying the holiday.

Maybe we have seen this increase because there is more stress in the workplace, so people want to take the chance to relax. The celebration of Halloween is different with adults than children. Adult costumes do not focus so much on movies and superheroes. Adult costumes have become increasingly more showy and sexy. I for one will dress up like a sexy ape this Halloween for maybe 5 minutes and that is about as sexy as I am going to get.

I dress as an ape because for once a year I like many adults want to relax and really show my sexy ape side of me and my awesome costume and have a good time. This new tradition is starting to make Halloween more fun for all age groups again. Adults are starting to get together more as a group to celebrate the tradition.

Believe it or not, sexy types of outfits have been the leading costumes for adults over the past couple of years for Tyler Texas Halloween costume shoppers. So there is proof in the pudding that we as adults are starting to enjoy the holidays a little more than we used to.

At the same time there are a lot of awkward moments as you see a teenage daughter of a friend from church in a catholic school girl outfit way to small for their body and they aren’t even catholic.

Buffalo Wild Wings

Buffalo Wild Wings in Tyler TX

When it comes to sports bars in the tyler area, my list starts and ends with Buffalo Wild Wings. In a dry county it is becoming increasingly harder to watch a ball game drinking a beer on my couch in my home. Beer runs on a sunday often have me coming in after the first half is already over. So I’ve adopted a new tradition of enjoying football games in the comfort of my local buffalo wild wings.

There is a variety of sauces that make a simple selection of a plate of wings an exciting new choice every trip I make, so I’ve come to enjoy the taste of their reasonably priced wings and throwing back a couple of drinks to the sound of cheers and taunts as everyone watches the cowboys game. Although there will be other games and sports showing on seperate tvs, be prepared for the Cowboys game to take precidence over say the Detroit Lions.

Do not expect to go to Buffalo Wild Wings dressed as your favorite figure skater expecting to watch the figure skating championship I’ve found that not to be a good idea. This is after all a man’s sports club. For those too cheap to pay for cable and wish to still see their favorite game this is the perfect place for it. Buffalo Wild Wings will often charge cover charges for pay per view fights and other events hosted. The food quality is good and I can’t say I’ve ever had a problem with the service, the true problem comes in the fact that it is treated like a restaurant by the employees, so delaying a 45 minute meal into two and a half hours to watch the whole game, becomes a bit of a hassle.

With the amount of beer guzzling that is often associated with football, Buffalo Wild Wings has surprisingly few drunks. If you are just in the mood for wings swing by, you may be charged just to get a table, so take caution to only go when you are certain there’s not a big fight or a bowl game going on. The quality of the wings rival that of their competitors Wing Stop and prices are even as well. Since the prices are low making the transition from your monotaneous life to a crowd that makes you feel like you are at the game can easily become a tradition. So the next time you are in the mood for a plate full of juicy wings and want to take in a relaxing boxing match or ball game, stop by Buffalo Wild Wings.

Wingstop and football a new tradition in Texas

August 31st, 2009

This is one of my favorite times of the year, when I can watch the Rangers on one channel and the Cowboys on the other. And what goes better with football, than a basket of hot wings and seasoned fries? In fact, Show me a guy who doesn’t love football and hot wings and I’ll show you a girl. Ok so I agree, that may be a little bit rash but admit it, I’m not far wrong. Oh, and I apologize to all those cool gals out there who happen to love both of those things. Well in what seems a match made in heaven, Troy Aikman has renewed his contract to promote Wingstop for another three years. Like the rest of Texas, I say, if Troy Aikman says something’s good, it’s got to be good!

Wingstop was founded in 1994 in Richardson Texas, were the company headquarters remains today. Since that time they have grown into a nationwide franchise with over six hundred locations and Troy as their poster boy. But this restaurant is not all marketing. The food is in fact tremendous.  There are nine different flavors of wings: atomic, Cajun, original (hot), mild, hickory smoked barbeque, lemon pepper, garlic parmesan, Hawaiian, and teriyaki. The servings are available in ascending volumes: ten wings (which really serves one), twenty wings, thirty five (which serves several) fifty, seventy five, and one hundred wings, which is perfect for those big Cowboy’s games. Don’t forget that those also come with those incredible Wingstop seasoned fries.

While the Wingstop franchise is not technically a local East Texas business, it is a Texas company, and with celebs like Troy Aikman, and now Jerry Jones, hocking their wares the Cowboy name is definitely going to help sell some wings here. While the service is quick and takeout is available the chain firmly asserts that they are not fast food.

Personally, I don’t much care what you call it. Quality is quality regardless of the name. So with baseball season winding down and football season heating up, take a break from the usual pizza and pretzels, and try a Texas favorite. Both you and Troy Aikman will be glad you did.
