Dark Little Steroid Secret to HCG Hormone

February 1st, 2011

HCG Hormone and Steroid RecoveryYou know what momma use to always say, “Watch the company you keep”. And when it comes to the hormone HCG, or Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, some of the company it keeps wouldn’t make momma too happy.

In the 1970’s HCG was first introduced as an injectable solution used for stopping obesity. But since that time HCG has shown a dark side. In fact, you might remember hearing the initials H.C.G. used in a recent high profile news report.

HCG Hormones

HCG was one of the “prohibited substances” found in Los Angeles Dodgers baseball player, Manny Ramirez. Why would a substance used by thousands for their weight loss solution would be banned from professional sports?  Well just like the majority of listed substances banned, it has to do with steroids.

The dark little secret of HCG is that it is an excellent recovery drug for those in between steroid treatments. After taking anabolic/androgenic steroids the body suffers a considerable drop in their testosterone level which creates a difficult transition for the user as it creates some loss in strength and muscle mass.

It is in those transition times that HCG is used as it has been found to produce more testosterone in a quick and reliable way. Also, it has been found that HCG helps with testicular atrophy which is a shrinking of the testes as a result of mega doses of steroids. Once HCG has been injected the testes return to normal condition (size) quickly.

Seeing this other side of HCG use can suggest why the drug has increased in popularity once again. So, if you are one who errs on the safe side, I would take this into account when considering continuing or beginning HCG injections as a weight loss method.

Patent licensing in the United States and East Texas

December 28th, 2010

patent licensingHow many times have we seen it? Whether it is dealing with national policies, professional sports, or your local civil service, so many times we try to make decisions to take care of the symptoms rather than the core issue itself.

There are numerous examples we see on our daily news where a rash decision was made by any of the three aforementioned examples listed above that was more about put out a fire than about resolving a problem.

So, when it comes to curing the illness of patent infringement abuse and its spawn, “patent trolls” let’s not risk putting out the fire and deal with grass root issues. And what can be more grass roots of patent infringement than the handing out of patents itself.

Patent licensing in the United States is as old as invention itself in our great nation and we have quite the history for invention and innovation. Think about names like Ben Franklin and Thomas Edison. But, that doesn’t mean its ok to use the same system.

Seriously, although it’s not that old, our patent licensing system is way too out dated for the fast moving world of technology innovation that is taking place now. Don’t get the wrong idea; we have hard working men and women who deal the issuing of invention patents.

It’s not their fault that the current system hasn’t been looked at in 50 years, or that they haven’t be trained sufficiently to identify rightful licensing, or even that not all the right resources are available to them. No, it’s not their fault, the fault for that once again goes to the government.

Either way, in order to see real change come, a bulldozer has to be taken to the building and a new foundation needs to be laid.

The Hague Sports

November 18th, 2010
The Hague Sports

The Hague sports started as nothing more than a blog written by a Stephen F. Austin State University student. As Nathan Hague, along with Luke Johnson, began to do podcasts, (internet radio shows) they began to expand, and they opened a new website www.thehaguesports.com.

The show started with Nathan Hague, the host of the show and sportswriter who prides himself on his many interviews of big named athletes. Along with Nathan was Luke “Ocho-Cinco” Johnson, who is known for his love of two things, the A&M Aggies and Brett Favre. Joining them later on were Stephen Todd, known for his self-proclaimed nickname Stevie-Westside, and Ben Dieter, one of Texas Rangers’ most loyal fans. Jason Hague is a frequent guest on the Hague Sports, who brings a little more sarcasm to the show, and has an ongoing argument with Luke Ocho-Cinco about who is the best quarterback of the NFL.

The Hague Sports covers many college and professional sports. The biggest subjects covered by the show are college and professional football, college and professional basketball, and professional baseball. One of the most popular traditions of the show is the “Drama Queen Award”. This award is given to someone involved in the sports world that starts drama or causes a fuss. A few of the cast members nominate a different person involved in sports and they vote on who has caused more drama, and crown them that weeks Drama Queen.

The show and articles on haguesports.com are quite entertaining, and always up to date with the news in the sports world. It is fun to tune in to hear the cast members give each other a hard time and place fun bets on game picks. The cast gives a whole new perspective on sporting events.
