Find or Refer a Contractor in Tyler

Lindsey Field in Tyler

June 14th, 2012

Tyler’s city parks are becoming increasingly central to my sense of community in this town. I realize that for most people it’s probably always been this way, and I’m only now noticing it since I’m now an adult and a parent. Here at Tyler TX Directory, we’ve written fairly extensively on the various city parks. Rose Rudman, Bergfield and Faulkner Parks have all graced our pages at one point or another and all are great parks. A number of them have been improved in recent years. One park, on which we’ve not written much, deserves a mention, and that’s Lindsey Park, on Greenbriar road and spur 364. The park has at least five baseball / softball fields, about six or seven different soccer fields and a frisbee golf course. All the facilities are really nicely developed, and well maintained. The park has also recently added some new children’s playground equipment.

I’ve already spent some evenings with my son at this park since the summer started. Even (and perhaps especially), when there’s no one else around, it’s a great place to hit a few balls and run the bases. When that gets old the new swings and jungle gym are a great way to burn off a little excess energy before hitting the showers and heading to bed. So when the kids get rowdy this summer, try visiting this park. You’ll find lots of space to run, and play.

Septic Companies in Tyler Texas

December 3rd, 2009

You can reach our preferred Texas certified Septic Company in Tyler Texas by calling Evan Watson Dirt Works – 903-360-2513

When hiring a Septic company in Tyler Texas to assist with a possible flooding of your tank and or house there are a couple pointers I would like to pass along. Usually when you start getting a back up in your house and possibly water flooding on your floors it is related to a combination of a clogged drain line in your yard, a night of raining, and an early morning shower and a couple of toilet flushes. If your drain line is clogged, you have rain water puddling on top of that drain line and you just took a long shower you may start to see water coming into your house from the bottom of the toilet, out of the bathtub, and who really knows all where it may be leaking out of. You want to put a quick end to this nightmare.

You will want to hire a septic company to come out and pump the water out of your tank. This will not solve your problem but will allow you to use your toilet and showers again provided another rain does not come. You will need to get to the root of the issue which are the drain lines. The drain lines many times are large PVC pipe with holes that come out at a slight angle downwards into the ground. They are usually built into a square with a cross of PVC in the middle. This type of setup allows for several drain lines to become clogged while still allowing water to flow in some of the drain lines that are working.

In my situation all of the drain lines seem to be clogged because no matter what I do water still some into the house. Many times a worker from a septic company will let you know if something needs to be done about your clogged drain line or the house flooding will continue. They will work off the clock to work and repair your septic. Because there are EPA guidelines to fix and construct a proper septic drain line the septic pump company will usually just be licensed to pump the tank but not construct a septic system. That is why many times in rural areas you have a hodgepodge of septic creations in the ground going into hay bails, a pile of rocks in the ground and so on. These type of setups sometimes work for awhile, not at all, or they just might do the trick.

You can hire someone off the clock to make your septic system work that may not be certified to do this type of thing but we do not recommend it. You may only pay $400 instead of $4000 but you may end up having to do it all over again the correct way. Instead we recommend that you hire a good quality septic company in Tyler Texas that has an EPA license and can build you a septic system that will last for years.

We have not been paid to refer Evan Watson as our preferred Texas certified Septic Company in Tyler Texas. We simply know Evan Watson to be very good at what he does.

Choosing a Home Remodeling Company in Tyler Texas

When picking a home remodeling company in Tyler Texas it is good to use a company that is insured and bonded. You can also choose a company that is licensed but you will usually pay a few thousand more dollars than if you were to go with a skilled contractor that still is insured and bonded but without the license. There are many home remodeling contractors in Tyler TX that have the insurance but don’t see the benefit in becoming licensed. In most cases choosing a licensed contractor just isn’t necessary unless taking out a very large home remodeling loan where the bank requires that the contractor be licensed.

We had several Tyler home remodeling companies come by our house and give us quotes on things like a new roof, flooring, tiling, painting, door and window installations, custom showers. What we found is that quite a few of these Tyler Texas building contractors would quickly add on things that they could do even when they were really only good at one or two things. You can imagine when we had them do some of these additional tasks they would not be as good at the additional things as what we initially hired them for. This was not the case with a home remodeling contractor we found experienced in several different areas of home construction offering discount prices I just didn’t see elsewhere. Also the level of confidence I had with this construction company had to do with their ability to continually price their jobs right and their attention to detail.

Josh with R and R Home Creations remodeling has experience in turn key home remodeling where they will typically provide a turn key remodel for your major remodeling points in an old house. We found that Home Creations had a great deal of experience in installing flooring, refinishing flooring, drywall, tiling, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, back splash and tile installation, as well as texturing and painting. When buying new doors and windows they can also professionally install these items as well. Their expertise and low overhead allowed us to begin our home remodeling project at a much cheaper price tag than the typical project of this size. They had multiple before and after pictures to show us of turn key home remodeling projects they have completed for half the price I have been quoted by other home building and remodeling consultants.

This Tyler Texas home remodeling company was very convenient to our budget as they worked with us in completing our project in phases. We wanted the cost savings that comes when hiring a company to do a large job but we needed the entire project to happen over the course of a year as we had the money to pay for it. Josh Rucker with Home Creations has experience in most aspects of a home remodel and when they are asked about a job outside their experience they have affordable people they use to complete such things as electrical and plumbing work.
