Whenever I’m away from Tyler for long period of time, I realize how much I miss Barnes and Noble. There are several reasons to go to Barnes and Noble on Broadway in Tyler. Obviously it starts with their books. If you’re looking for a book they don’t have, they can order it for you.
Let’s not forget about the Café where they brew Starbucks coffee. If there’s a book in the store you’re not sure you want to buy, you can take it into the café, grab a cup of coffee and read some of the book to help you decide if you want to read it.
The café has always been a great location to get some work done and it doesn’t hurt that it has free wifi. Whether you’re doing homework, grading papers, writing articles or just killing time, the Barnes and Noble café is a great location for it.
Now, one thing that you may consider a make or break deal is you’ll always see someone you know there. It’s up to you to decide whether or not that’s a good thing. A few years ago, whenever I’d go there with a family member, we’d each say a number before entering the store. That number would represent how many people we’d see who we knew in the store. There was nothing in it for the winner but it was just fun to see who would get the closest.
Barnes and Noble also sells books, games, calendars and more. It’s a good place to go to hang out with other people or to get alone. Your call.
