New Furnace But a Loud House

October 24th, 2011

We bought our first house about 3 years ago and instead of buying a new house we bought a very old house and fixed it up quite a bit. One of the first things we did was buy a new heating and AC system made by Lennox.

I was told of an HVAC tech in the area that could do it for a good price and so I called him and he came right over to quote me and begin investigating the job.

Our HVAC guy got the system in the house just in time for the winter. Although we had a new furnace to heat our home I discovered some things where professionalism was severely lacking in the job he had done.

The air filter could not be removed from the central system without bending at a 90 degree angle nor could it be put in without the same bend.

There was a flex duct in the way preventing an easy filter installation and this was the beginning of the troubles I started to find with this affordable Heating system we bought for the winter.

In the babies room we discovered from the previous unit that it was extremely loud where the return air came through. When we turned on the heating system to heat the entire house the noise pollution all went into his room.

You can barely hear someone talking to you in this room when the system is going and so I asked my heating technician for a solution to this problem. At the time I knew nothing about single zone systems where 100 % of the air goes to 100 % of the duct work.

When our system came on it only knew to blow 1200 cubic feet of air per minute throughout all the duct work. The babies room return air problem had no management of how this air was dispersed and so it had to assimilate air back into the system from this one room to send it throughout the entire house.

What we needed all along was a barometric damper. If our heating guy had known (and maybe he did but wanted to save money on the job) he would have suggested a barometric damper and would have split the current heating system and duct work into a two zone system and installed a barometric damper.

With the damper you get improved performance of the heating system, reduction in air flow and noise to an acceptable level, and you heat each room without anyone even knowing it.

These little devices do not cost a lot, they send excess air to another zone when needed, and are adjusted for static pressure. If you live in an old Tyler Texas house and are getting a new heating and AC system and have a noise problem like we did be sure to ask your heating technician what their plan of attack will be for reducing noise pollution in your house.

You want every room in your home to be enjoyable to live in and trust me you do not want to have to compete against a loud central heating and AC system because you will lose. The HVAC tech that includes a barometric damper in his system design when dealing with a 2 zone system or higher has proven that he is not just your average heating company guy.

LOCKSMITH SERVICES OF TYLER

241 S. BROADWAY AVE
TYLER TX 75702
903 595 1109

If you need duplicate keys, locks, alarms or a safe – this is the place to go for excellent service and affordable pricing.
After buying a used minivan for our family I needed duplicate sets of keys and didn’t have a ‘master’.

Problem – the keys were something special and would need cutting from the right blank, then programming somehow (can you tell I don’t know much about this!) The car dealership would do it for me – but at a price that made me splutter somewhat. I tried a few other places with little success before contacting Locksmiths Services. Instantly, I knew I had come to the right place. The questions asked were intelligent and specific and within minutes the locksmith had located the right keys in Houston and given me the price, with a discount for buying two sets.

I went into the shop the following week and was immediately impressed by the professionalism of all who worked there. If you are going to trust your keys or any aspect of your security to anyone, then you would feel safe with these guys. I couldn’t help wondering if one of the guys was an ex-cop, (or… maybe a spy?!) They worked on getting the key to work with my engine (or something) so patiently and for what seemed like ages, so I had time to admire the HUGE gun safes and other Texan treasures in the store. It was certainly a popular business too – an endless stream of customers, all treated with the same courtesy and efficiency as me.

So… thanks Locksmith Services, you do a great job and your business is highly recommended!

Experienced Plumbing Work For Near Half The Normal Price

December 9th, 2009

You can reach our preferred Landscape and plumbing fixit Tyler home contractors by calling Tim and Christi at 903-769-9485 Wildflower Landscape and Irrigation

We have used a few different plumbers to help us with our Tyler homes renovation projects but we really lucked out with our latest contractor. Before finding our current plumbing contractor I brought in some different plumbers that charged anywhere from $65 – $75 an hour and didn’t really seem to have the type of experience and ability that I would expect for paying $65 an hour. These other Tyler Texas plumbers got the job done but at a cost I cannot continue to afford to pay.

My cabinet painter told me about an experienced company that could hook up my sink and dishwasher correctly and for a good price. He explained that this company is affordable and experienced. I called Tim and Christi up with Wildflower Landscape and Irrigation and they came over and began the work on the Moen sink faucet set, the sink, dishwasher, and refridgerator. They were meticulous to make positively sure there were absolutely no leaks. They installed a brand new sink faucet set I bought at Lowes and made it look perfect. They also got the dishwasher into my custom cabinets in a really snug fit. They installed the cabinet fitting over the dishwasher so the dishwasher was established in the wall.

The refridgerator was hooked up to the water and works great. The sinkerator food disposal was also hooked up by Tim and Christi with Wildflower landscape and irrigation. The button for the disposal was installed into our granite countertops and the whole setup looks perfect. They were able to complete the job quickly and without any problems. I was very happy with their professionalism and how much care goes into their work. Tim and Christi really care about the job they do for their customers and it shows. You will notice that they never do a half way done job but always go above and beyond to the point of perfection which is many times not the case when working with a Tyler home building contractor.

We do not recommend every home building contractor that comes into our Tyler TX home but we are more then pleased with Tim and Christi of Wildflower Landscape and Irrigation.

You can reach Tim and Christi at 903-769-9485

Tim and Christi with Wildflower landscape and irrigation specialize in retaining walls, rock walls, ponds, and waterfalls. They have done landscaping work on several million dollar homes throughout East Texas, Tyler, and Hawkins.
