Joes Italian Grill

January 8th, 2010

Tyler has so many options for a great Italian dine in experience. One of my favorite places to eat is a little Italian Restaurant known as Joe’s Italian Grill. Joe’s is a quant little restaurant with walls stained with the smell of garlic and pesto that brings a true Italian culture to East Texas. Joe’s great pasta masterpieces cooked with his rich signature sauce will leave your stomachs and your wallets full. Joe has a great variety that is not found anywhere else.

Joe’s Italian Grill offers a quiet, romantic atmosphere and each of the tables has individual curtains to maintain the privacy of your dinner party. It is a great place to have a great date and a delightful peaceful meal. Not only is the food great but the prices are unbeatable. Lunch menus start at $6. And the rest of the menu is prices between six to fourteen dollars. Have a glass of wine of your choice with your meal.

Not sure what will go with your meal? Just ask your waiter and they will give you their suggestions. They have all different wines, both white and red. If you just want to enjoy a drink feel welcomed at their small bar. At this locally family owned restaurant the waiters and waitresses are very attentive and professional, expect great service. The small italian restaurant on a small shopping center, is a great place to enjoy the Italian culture here in Tyler. So come on in and let your taste buds travel around the world.

The Egg and I

January 4th, 2010

Egg and I breakfast in Tyler TX
I walked into the Egg and I Tyler TX Restaurant and was very impressed. The small restaurant only serves breakfast, brunch and lunch. The restaurant is scented with sweet smell hazelnut coffee and maple syrup. The waitresses greeted you with a friendly “hello” and they were extremely helpful when ordering.

We looked over the menu and we pleasantly surprised with the prices, and the wonderful selection of breakfast and lunch entrees. I looked through the large omelet selection. The menu had every type of omelet that you could imagine. Mushrooms, cheddar or Swiss cheese, beef ham or bacon, they all sounded so great. I ordered a cordon blue casserole. I was amazed in the great flavoring of the potatoes, chicken and ham mixed together toped with Swiss cheese and cheese sauce and finally topped off with their famous egg cooked to my liking.

If you are not an egg lover don’t fret, egg items are not the only things on the menu. If you are a sweet tooth and want something to ease that chocolate craving, you are in luck! Order the filling and truly homemade tasting chocolate chip pancake. Dig into the thick fluffy chocolate chip stuffed pancake topped off with chocolate sauce and served with maple syrup on the side.

Choose from their delicious coffees, or choose a juice or fountain drink.

The service was amazing. The waitresses and waiters were polite and were constanly refilling drinks and asking if there was anything else that we wanted. After we ordered our food, it took lease than ten minutes for our food to come out to our table.

They have another room that you can reserve for a party or meeting. It is very private and closed off from the rest off the restaurant. So call and reserve the private room today.

Enjoy great company, a quiet atmosphere, and great food at a wonderful price. Come to the Egg & I for a meeting, party or date.

Chili’s in Tyler Texas

November 5th, 2009

One of the many restaurant chains that stretches through the U.S. and reaches into our little city is the Chili’s restaurant. No one forgets the “Baby back ribs”; but I am not sure if it is because of the taste or because of the obnoxious little song that stays in your head for months at a time.

You can always find any food that you are craving on the long listed Chili’s menu. You will always be able to find great barbecue, ribs, steak, and chicken. Try one of their great barbecue sauces. Great pasta, Mexican, or burger, have your favorite food here.

But Chili’s is much more to me than the prices, decent foods, or annoying songs. My most fond memories happened at this restaurant. When I walk into the restaurant, memories flood my mind of my first date, or when we ate there right after my husband proposed. My family ate there right before my brother was sent over seas with the military. I was even eating at Chili’s when I went into labor with my oldest child. I used to go to Chili’s every week to hang out with a big group of friends. Most of my most happy and fond memories have something to do with Chili’s.

I have had the best service here, but also I have had the worst service, and not to mention the most odd. It seems like when I am in a smaller group for some reason the service is so much worse than if I am with a bunch of people. One time I went to Chili’s for my dad’s birthday with just a few people. There was probably five of us that day. I remember the restaurant was not very crowded and there seemed to be a lot of people working, you would think that the service would be really great. But of course, we are blessed with the most obnoxious person as a waiter in the city of Tyler. When I told him that we were the celebrating my dad’s birthday, he laughed and walked away shaking his head. I just wanted to embarrass my dad and have to annoying waiters and waitresses yell their own version of “Happy Birthday” through the whole restaurant out of key. I don’t really understand why he wouldn’t believe me or why he made it such a big deal.

If this was the only strange issue I would not have any issues. I would have been happy with the service if my food was how I ordered it or if it came out with in the forty five minutes of ordering. I probably would not be writing about this situation if this was the only time Chili’s slow services disappointed me. But sadly this has happened a few times and I have left upset, but it was nothing compared to the times I have left confused by the extremely strange waiters that I have had.

One time I was eating dinner their with my husband and we had the weirdest person that I have ever met as our waiter. He would repeat our orders so loud you could hear him throughout the restaurant and all through out the parking lot. He would try to make us laugh with corny jokes. He did come to our table a lot but I really did not want him to. That was extremely frustrating and did I mention annoying?

Though I have had very different experiences each time I go there I do really like Chili’s for the food and the prices. You can relax and have a drink in the bar and watch the game. You can not find prices like these anywhere else. So come on by Chili’s and be sure to have an experience, even though it might not be the greatest experience.
