PETLAND

4512 S Broadway
Tyler Texas 75703
Phone: 903 561 3142
Open: M-S 10am – 8pm         Sun 12 – 6pm

At Petland you can buy a household pet, receive free advice about pet care and purchase food, toys, bedding, flea control etc. for your current animal, fish or bird.

Petland Tyler is located in the French Quarter across the road from the Mall, near Pier One and Michaels. It is not a massive store but it stocks a great range of products and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

On the left hand side of the store are the animals for sale. The puppies and kittens are in glass fronted boxes and are simply adorable. In case you are tempted to add one to your family, the staff will talk to you in depth to try and match you with the right animal. You have the assurance that the animals have been checked by 2 veterinarians and have all their vaccinations plus a ‘health warranty.’ Puppies come with a ‘Pets for a Lifetime’ resource kit which includes a dog training DVD, info sheets and discounts on puppy care products. I like the idea of the 48 hour return policy too – if you find that you have made a big mistake when you get your new creature home, you can return it and receive a refund.

As well as dogs and cats, there are also rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, hamsters and gerbils. Some of the mice for sale are actually bred as snake food! They also have some reptiles and lots of different birds.

The tropical fish section is wonderful. There are lots of fish available to buy and the staff in that section are extremely knowledgeable about fish and amphibians. They will be happy to help you with any problem you might have with your aquarium.

The nutrition center at Petland is large and well stocked – if you need a specialized product then this is the place to find it. If it is just regular cat or dog you need then it would save you money to buy in bulk from somewhere like Atwoods or Sams Club. There are a variety of beds, pet homes and crates for sale too.

One of the things I like about Petlands is its commitment to education. This is not just for the prospective customer. They host school groups for visits in store and even take their animals to nursing homes, which acts as a service to the community and also aids the pets’ socialization. Petland advertises local initiatives, like neutering days and supports local animal welfare charities.

If you are thinking of buying a pet in the future or need advice for an existing one, don’t be afraid to make use of the resources at Petland – they are there to help.

Pet Land

Tyler Pet Land is located at 4512 S Broadway Ave., Tyler, Texas 75703. If you own a pet, I am sure you have already been introduced to Pet Land and know what it is about. It’s like going to the mall, only this is for your pet. Whatever the pet they have what you need for it. Love exotic fishes..you can find plenty of them there.

Bird lovers you are in for a treat because they have what you are looking for. Reptiles too and much more. Anytime you want a pet but you can’t have one because your parents won’t allow you….than maybe convince them about taking you to Pet Land and spend time petting all the animals they have. Besides, your parent’s can’t get mad at you when you leave….and those animals remain there.

It’s a great blessing to have a Pet Land around here with knowledgeable people who work there and love animals, and know what to advise you about with your loved pets. For most people they are not pets…but more like their little baby. I should know because I have owned several small dogs that I thought of them more like my children than a pet.

Pets should be loved and well taken care of. Adoption is available there if you find yourself lonely and in need of a friend. Dogs and cats make pretty good companions. They offer unconditional love at all times…no matter what your day was like…they always look forward for you to come home so they can have you pet them and feed them.

Surrounding Pet Land there are other stores, such as: Big Lots, Michael’s, China King and the best thing is a Dollar Store very close. Pet Land is open Monday through Saturday 10a.m. to 8p.m. and on Sunday 12p.m. to 6p.m.

Tyler Big Lots

January 12th, 2010

We have two locations in Tyler TX for Big Lots, one is off of Beckham and the other towards the mall. I love going to Big Lots because they have everything you could possibly need or want and the prices for the most part are reasonable, especially if you are looking for movies. Big Lots is the place because it’s the cheapest I have ever seen anywhere. They have movies ranging anywhere from $3 to $10 dollars. The new releases are the ones that cost a little more or if you find a series, that usually costs a little more. I once bought the series, Life Goes On, and I paid $4 dollars for it. That is just an example of the things that you can find there.

I also found little Christmas ornaments for a little tree that I have. They have food, clothes, personal needs, bedding, some furniture and many more things. I could not even start to list everything at Big Lots even if I wanted to because they have so many categories of things to buy there. The service for the most part is good. It is a place where if you are looking for a store where you could find some inexpensive gifts for someone, then I would suggest going to Big Lots. It is always a convenient thing to have a Big Lots around. Big Lots is usually surrounding other stores.

The store off of Beckham is next to the General Dollar Store and the Shoe Warehouse. The other one that is close to the mall on the South side is located by Michael’s, Pet Land, Dollar Store, and a Chinese Restaurant. You could definitely take a whole day to experience the bargains available at Big Lots. You would have your shopping, entertaining and food done all in one place.

Note Regarding This Petland Article

We have written a satirical post and because of confusion by some regarding the intended humor of this post we have a brief explanation of what we intended.

This is a satirical post about one of Tyler’s landmark businesses and locations. We at Tylertxdirectory.com love Petland and their animals and would never suggest that Petland tortures their animals but only wrote about common rumors about Petland with the use of irony which I would assume is a bit of fresh air considering all the posts on the internet that seriously accuse the Petland chain of using puppy mills and torture. For those unfamiliar with the use of irony and humor that is all we intended in the post about Petland. Again the blog post about Petland is tongue in cheek and is meant as comedy and nothing more. We do not believe Petland Tyler is engaged in animal torture or buying puppies from puppy mills. We are a loyal customer of Petland and buy all our pet related products from there. As can be seen in this humane society document there are no reports that the Tyler Petland location is engaged in any type of puppy mill buying or animal torture: Humane Society Report for Texas Petland Locations.

Ok, so I’ve heard a couple rumors about this so called Petland. One has something to do with puppy abuse and the other has to do with finding stray puppies to abuse, I believe. I do suppose that these rumors apply to kittens also, so four rumors in all. But we’re not about rumors here at tylertxdirectory.com no sir, we have a standard for journalistic integrity unmatched by any other local online Tyler Texas business directory, which is why, I’m sure, you come here for these hard hitting no spin zone reviews. I will however point out that upon my last visit, every single puppy and kitten had been sold and/or rescued from the clutches of their tormentors.

You may say that I’m jumping to conclusions when assuming Petland deliberately tormented puppies and kittens, but ask yourself, do you really want to take a chance with puppy/kitten torture? That’s what I thought, but then again, you also may say that there’s no constructive purpose for my wild accusations and that spreading malicious rumors won’t prevent any kitten torture at all. If that is the case then feel free to write your own local Tyler business review, but until then I’m running the show, the baby animal torture show. Besides, I have yet to reveal the extremely dramatic and emotional testimony of my horrifying firsthand experience in this sadistic underground cult.

It was a sunny summer day, I was on my daily ten mile run along the strip mall sidewalk, about to pass the China King Buffet for the third time when I decided on one of my favorite past times. I casually walked into the Petland ready to be greeted once again by this exotic and wonderful world of animal slavery when I noticed every single baby animal box like an empty trophy case for the world’s cutest competition. Unfilled, every last cage, it brought tears to my eyes just thinking of those babies not confined in plexi glass for my own amusement, and I had just named them all individually by personality. “Where are my babies?”

I screamed my question repeatedly and was repeatedly bitten by both the parrots and the employees. As I was drug out of the store I knew in my heart the only explanation could be an underground syndicate for baby animal mutilation, and now I hope that your hearts, whoever is reading, can be filled with this truth as well. It feels good to have this in the open finally. But all in all I would like to commend Petland for marketing such a depreciable item as a baby animal, it’s no easy task. So until they get a new shipment of slave babies in feel free to check out the fish.
