Burger House

Burger House Tyler Texas

Burger House Tyler Texas

Burger House has brought a great pride to East Texas. The fun “every one knows your name” atmosphere makes your experience of eating at Burger House more enjoyable. Between the giant chalk board and the few video games, my kids have fun when they eat here. The restaurant has a great monument painted on the walls resembling all the greatest treasures in Tyler.

Besides the paintings on the walls and the small video games, Burger House offers great food. They have a great selection of burgers that are made just to your liking. Before eating there I really had not heard very many reports about Burger House. I think that the new burger restaurant Smash Burger has over shadowed Burger House. Burger House has other food than just burgers; they also have chicken sandwiches and hotdogs. The restaurant has chili cheese fries, if you can get over the guilt of the 10 pounds you are putting on from the deep fried potatoes, thick chili, and melted cheese, you will realize how great the food is here.

Not only is the food comparable to the popular Smash Burger, the prices are comparable to. You can eat somewhat cheap here and the servings are large enough to share. They have perfect portions for your small children. Your children can choose their favorite meal from the selections of burger, corn dog, or hotdog. Burger House has two rooms with televisions; usually play the popular sports game or Fox News. Burger house is a fun place to hang out and the food is pretty great too!

Helpless in Target

March 29th, 2010

Target is one of my very favorite stores here in East Texas. It is one of the best stores to buy clothes and to register for wedding and baby showers. But as I walked through the store to the electronic department I was in a hurry.

I am pretty clueless when it comes to understanding electronics. And I was in need to buy my husband a HD cable. I had no idea what that was. I knew that it was a cable that you stuck into your television. I walked over to the “help” desk and waited for a employee to come to the desk. Two employees walked by the desk and when they saw me, they tried to not make eye contact. Usually I would of just searched the store until I actually found someone that was willing to do their job, but for the sake of this articles, I waited for someone to actually try to help me. Finally a young boy came up to the desk and I asked him to help me. He looked around for someone else to do his job. His lack of excitement to be at work was completely off putting, and to be blunt, annoying.

I asked him where I can find HD cables. He pointed in a general direction and told me they were “over there”. So, at this point I was extremely frustrated with the young kid. I told him that I really had no idea what I was looking for or what kind of cable I should use. He looked at me like I was retarded and told me he was going to get someone to help me. It would take more time to find someone to come over and show me, than to just show me himself. He grabbed his walkie-talkie and asked for some woman to come over to electronics. I asked him if he worked in this department. Apparently you can work in the electronics department but with manly video games and televisions. He grabbed the phone and called an outgoing line right in front of me. I was beyond annoyed by the rudeness of the employee. A woman came up to me and ask what I needed help. I told her that I just needed to be shown where the HD cables were at and which one I should use. She walked me over to the next aisle. About twenty feet. Really? He could not walk me over twenty feet? I grabbed the cable that I needed and left the store disappointed and frustrated. If you don’t know what you are looking for when it comes to the electronic selection, do not go to Target.

Stereo and Video Center on South Broadway

January 8th, 2010

In business since 1976, this company knows how to meet the video and audio needs of Tyler Texas. They specialize in home theatre sales and installation as well as car audio and GPS. When you walk in to the store you are greeted first by very large state of the art televisions and then by a smiling face who has time for you. They have an average of ten to nineteen qualified and experienced staff. Every time I have gone into the store I have been treated like an honored guest by those not already helping the other customers pick out audio or video equipment for their homes or vehicles.

My first experience was with their car audio department. I was in need of a CD player for my car that was capable of connecting with MP3 players. I decided to try Best Buy before anywhere else. I walked into Best Buy and found the car audio section. I expected standard Best Buy customer service. Instead I was ignored for about ten minutes while an employee laughed with a couple friends. Then I was curtly told that I need to drive around to the back where they are installed. The installation employee was working on a car. He saw me waiting and continued working without speaking to me. About five or ten minutes later he came out and rudely told me that I now needed to drive back around to the front to pick out a CD player. So I got in my car and drove across the street to Stereo & Video Center to see if they could offer better service.

I was pleasantly surprised. They were instantly friendly and helpful. I quickly realized that they only sold equipment that they would stand behind – quality. I was concerned about the price, and so the employee found one that was not on display that brought the price down significantly. They immediately went to work on my car. They even had attractive furniture set up in front of the plasma TVs so I could wait comfortably for them to finish with my car. My experience with Stereo and Video Center was so impressive that I only recommend them for such things to my friends and family. I tell people about their amazing customer service when exchanging customer service horror stories. I also returned to them as my first choice when I needed new speakers in my car.

The experience was once again above and beyond the business standard. On this second visit I felt even more taken care of. As I waited for my car to be worked on the other employees engaged in friendly conversation with me. There was a problem with the installation where they realized that I needed larger speakers than they had thought. The cost would have been an extra twenty dollars per speaker. Without me even asking, the employee said he just adjusted the price since he had quoted me the lower price before they started working. It was hard to believe, but this is how customer service should be. Tyler companies could benefit from having their employees visit and observe Stereo and Video Center in action. I have never been disappointed with this company, and you will not be either.

Tyler Pizza Showdown

October 15th, 2009

If you are a big eater and love pizza, why not eat as much pizza as you want at Double Dave’s pizza? It is a great place to hang out with your friends and watch the game on the giant screen television or one of the many smaller televisions. Have a party in the back room with it’s own private television. Check out the specials on certain days. Double Dave’s is a great place to drink a beer and eat some of the greatest pizza in Tyler. You could also get your favorite pizza brought to your table or you can call in and pick your pizza to go. If you are throwing a party Double Dave’s will deliver to your house. Enjoy a great salad bar with all the freshest toppings. Have a great time playing video games with your kids, watching the game and eating all the pizza and wings you can.

If you ask any little kids where the most fun place to go is. They would not hesitate to tell you Chuck E. Cheese. The pizza might be a 4th pizza and the rest grease, but you never cease to have a great time. Enjoy all different video games, shoot around on the small basketball games and play in the fun playground area. Watch your children’s faces light up as they see Chuck E. walk out to greet them. If their birthday is coming up let them have the party that they really want at Chuck E Cheese. Watch your kids get so excited to pick out the small 25 cents toys that they won from the games that they have been playing. If you are looking of a fun place to play and “be a child” and not care so much about the bad pizza then this is the place for you.

CiCi’s Pizza is a very popular pizza buffet. It has great prices and a lot of pizza. If they are out of your favorite at the bar then you can ask them to make it just for you to bring to your table or just to serve on the bar. They have a salad bar with all different toppings. I don’t really like CiCi’s though. I don’t like the feeling of the employees screaming “WELCOME TO CICI’S” as I walk in, and yelling “THANK YOU” as I leave and everyone looking at me. I don’t like the chewy crust and the greasy cheese. I might be different then most people, but I like my lettuce green with a crunch and not brown and slimy. But there must be something good about the restaurant since there is always business, I just never have seen what that is.

The best pizza in Tyler and maybe in the country is definitely Papa Murphy’s. Walk into one of the small stores and order your own personal favorites with any topping that you want. Everything is hand made and half cooked. Take your pizza home and keep it in your refrigerator for later or you can take it straight home and cook it in your oven. Try there stuffed pizza with layers of meat and cheese or the thin crust. You can even by a wheel of garlic cheese bread or a wonderful desert pizza. You can not go wrong with choosing Papa Murphy’s, unless you don’t have an oven.

There is a couple Mazzio’s pizza in Tyler. I don’t know how they get any business and how anyone could eat in there. The floor is always dirty and the pizza bad. I swear that they must reserve the same pizza all week because I don’t understand how in only a day a pizza could be so stale. The only thing keeping it warm is the red light attracting the flies. I always feel sick when I see the filthy kitchen. After a week of a sick stomach I would not eat there again.

Tyler has one Ken’s pizza. They have a fun game room with all different arcade video games. But I have very little to say about the food there. Most of the times that I have gone there the pizza tasted cold and old. But I have been there when I was surprised by the warm crust with the perfect amount of crunch. But I always seem to feel so sick every time I eat there. The grease seems to flood the taste of the cheese and the meat and the sauce. I am not a big fan of greasy old crust. The tables and chairs are always really greasy and I always feel like I need to run home as fast as I can and take a shower. Ken’s pizza is definitely a “pass” when it comes to eating pizza or eating out in general.

So if your are going to eat pizza here in Tyler hopefully this will show you where to have great pizza and where to have a great time. Hopefully I showed you which places to stay clear of.
